WHERE IS TAGHAZOUT SURF WAVES
The village of Taghazout is 45 minutes north of Agadir on the southeast coast of Morocco.
HOW DO I GET THERE?
Many airlines offer direct flights to Agadir or Marrakech. Check out ths website www.skyscanner.net to find the best offers.
DO I NEED A VISA?
EU passport holders with a passport that is valid for at least 6 months do not require a visa to enter Morocco for a period of 90 days. If you are not from the European Union we strongly recommend that you check the visa requirements at the local Embassy of Morocco.
WHAT IS THE MOROCCAN CURRENCY AND WHERE CAN I GET IT?
The Moroccan currency is Dirham. Exchange rates are around 11 Dirhams to 1 Euro, 13 Dirhams to 1 British Pound, and 8 Dirhams to 1 US Dollar. In almost all cases, Dirhams can only be obtained within Morocco. Generally the easiest way is to withdraw money using your Visa or Mastercard from one of the ATMs at the airport or in Agadir. There are also currency exchange offices at the airport. There are no ATMs in Taghazout (the nearest one is in the village of Aourir which is a five minute drive from the camp).
IS MOROCCO SAFE?
Morocco is a safe country. Tourism is an important segment of the economy, and the government pays q lot of qttention to security issues.
WHAT CLOTHING SHOULD I BRING?
Morocco is a tolerant muslim country. Taghazout is especially easy: both men and women are welcome to wear shorts and t-shirts. If you come in winter you will definitely need some warm clothes as it does get cooler in the evenings.
DO I HAVE TO BRING ANY SURF EQUIPMENT?
Feel free to bring anything you want. In case you do not have any kind of equipment, no worries – we will provide you with all you need.
WHAT IS THE FOOD LIKE?
A wide selection of European and traditional Moroccan food is available in the restaurants and cafés. There are also plenty of options for vegetarians and vegans.
CAN I BUY ALCOHOL?
You can buy alcohol in supermarkets and bars in Agadir.
IS THERE INTERNET?
There is free wifi at the hostel! Also many cafés and restaurants around the town provide free wifi.
WHAT ARE THE ELECTRICITY PLUGS LIKE?
Moroccan voltage is 220V, 50 Hz (two-pin round plugs). Always check your laptop or electronic items to make sure they can handle 100-240 volts.
DO I NEED ANY VACCINATIONS BEFORE I COME TO MOROCCO?
You do not need any vaccinations to visit Morocco. Local pharmacies have all the basic medicine.
